DAYAW S4 EP.1 PICTURES

Upon viewing the EP.1 documentary about the Philippine GAMABA it really amazed me how people traditionally created crafts coming from different craftsman who traditionally created the crafts especially the Weavers. I am very impressed that even up to this modern world there are still people who truly preserves Filipino culture. And who really put their lives into lifetime commitment that made them satisfied everytime they make arts. Also I am very impressed with the artist and story tellers in this EP.1 documentary as they are using very unique and traditional musical instruments and traditional way of telling stories to kids and even adult ones.

Here during EP.2 and EP.3 I feel very great that Philippines has a lot of traditional artists and Craftsman who truly give meaning in the Philippine history. I am shocked and at the same time amazed because what I saw is something that modern people would not appreciate. But as I’ve seen this episode it made me realize that we must embrace the creativity of our ancestors who serves as our inspiration to continue what they had started and what they want to preserve .

In this episode what I’ve seen is the Philippine traditional dance that is very nostalgic and powerful dances in which it produces meaning, it tells story , and it reveals history. We must pit in mind that the traditional dances that we have is the dance that each of us must learn. Because I believe that by learning this dances it will help us preserve and maintain the Philippine culture when it comes to dance. I expected that if I will view this episode it will be boring, but I am truly wrong, upon viewing these dances it motivates me as a dancer that dance is everything, dance has no limits as long as you are bringing courage and motivation well, just continue dancing.

During ep.5 it took me to another stage of DAYAW. A stage where we can see a lot of things in museum where the old crafts and arts created by our ancestors is being preserved for educational, and other purposes. It tells us that the history of Philippines is good as what we have expected. And dealing things like to foreign visitors make us unique and cool from them.

In this last episode I was able to see the traditions that past time by time, generation to generation . In rediscovering traditions it enables us to brainstorm how this traditions passed to our time at present. It tells us something that our past or history really connects to our present time.
QUESTION:
As a student (focusing on your program), what possible projects or advocacies you can do to continue embracing our culture or the possibility of making use of our very own arts and crafts?
MY ANSWER: WELL BEING A STUDENT THE PROJECTS THAT I CAN DO TO CONTINUE EMBRACING OUR CULTURE AND MAKING USE OF OUR ARTS AND CRAFTS IS BY EMBRACING MY OWN CULTURE, AND MAKE USE OF THE ARTS AND CRAFTS THAT IS TRADITIONALLY MADE. I CAN USE THESE CRAFTS FOR MY MODELING, AND ALSO I CAN SELL IT ONLINE BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT SOME FOREIGN PEOPLE WILL BE AMAZED BY THE ARTS AND CRAFTS PHILIPPINES HAS TO OFFER. ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO GOES TO OUR BEAUTIFUL ISLANDS AND TOURIST SPOTS. THEY CAN USE OUR CRAFTS AS SOUVENIRS AND MODELING PROPS OR WHATSOEVER.
ALSO I WOULD RAISE AN ADVOCACY THAT WOULD REALLY FOCUS ON THE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT OF OUR TRADITIONAL CRAFTSMAN SO THAT THEY WILL BE GIVEN AN IMPROVED HAVEN, BUSINESSES AND ANY THINGS THAT WOULD HELP THEM BE DEVELOPED.
