A DAY TO REMEMBER IN MY MUSEUM VISIT

BODY OF MY BLOG

(What do I see going on in this work of art? Is there a story depicted)?

What i see that is happening in this image is that there is a legion of men falling from above and they were called titans. This art tells us the history of wars before, a war between Gods and Titans.

Yes, there was a story depicted together with this picture that would serve as an supporting details of the said artwork. And the link is right below the image so that it would be more easier to catch some details.

  • (What choices did the artist make in creating the object)?

Based on the context that I read in connection to the image that I choose the artist decided to create this art in a way that only men will be involved and there were insects included in this art as the insects represents something regarding to the story of this image

  • (What details are visible? Are there details I can’t see, or which are difficult to understand)?
  • (DETAILS THAT ARE VISIBLE IN THIS ART )IMAGE

AND THE UPSIDE DOWN POSITION OF MENS FALL FROM ABOVE
  • (Are there details I can’t see, or which are difficult to understand)?

Yes there are details that I can’t see clearly for the reason that the colors are very hard to see in my naked eye, and the thing which for me is difficult to understand is why women in this art were not included where infact it would be a great piece also if women titans will be present in this piece.

SOME PICTURES OF THE ART PIECE OF Cornelis van Haarlem: THE FALL OF THE TITANS

THE STORY BEHIND THIS ART PIECE

In Greek mythology, the Titans were members of the second generation of divine beings, descending from the primordial deities and preceding the Olympians. Based on Mount Othrys, the Titans most famously included the first twelve children of Gaia (Mother Earth) and Uranus (Father Sky). They ruled during the legendary Golden Age, and also comprised the first pantheon of Greek deities.[2]

Just as the Titan Cronus overthrew his father Uranus, the Titans were overthrown by Cronus’s children (Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Hestia, Hera and Demeter), the core Olympian deities, in the Titanomachy (or “War of the Titans”), at the end of which they were imprisoned in Tartarus, a Greek version of Hell. Their arrival there is depicted in the painting.

The painting was bought by King Christian IV of Denmark in 1621, and followed most of the royal collection into public ownership in the Statens Museum in the 19th century.

MUSEUM EXPERIENCE STORY

A long with viewing some artworks coming from different artist, I am very grateful for the museum experience even though it is virtually handled still the experience is there and it is a very great opportunity to remember.

My expectations for this virtual viewing is on the average level. Meaning I am totally impressed and amazed seeing those arts that I haven’t seen before, an art that I don’t think would exist, and an art that would have that such value and meaning in every detail crafted to it.

Also upon viewing this artwork I remember the time where I watched a movie entitled immortals where it also connects to the photo that I have seen. Because the movie that I watched tells a story that is also seen on the article connected to the photo I choose so my mind stick to it and really pick that image because of the experience the movie I’ve seen had given me. And it also encourage me to choose that photo because I love watching and looking things about Greek Gods and Goddess and something that would involve powers. So there’s no doubt for me why I choose and stick to that art that is made by Cornelis van Haarlem.
